A website redesign that keeps the rankings you already have.
Modernise the design, fix what is slow or broken, and carry your SEO across intact. Every old URL is mapped to its new home with a 301, headings and metadata come with it, and the rebuild targets passing Core Web Vitals. Phased or all at once, whichever fits your budget and risk.
What you get with a redesign
What is a website redesign?
Rebuilding an existing site's design, structure and performance while keeping what already works: your domain authority, your rankings, and the content that earns traffic. It is not starting from zero; it is an upgrade that protects the value already there.
What is included when I redesign your site?
You get a crawl and audit of the current site (URLs, rankings, traffic, tech issues), a new design applied consistently across every template, and a content migration that keeps your best-performing pages. Every old URL gets a 301 redirect to its new home, and titles, headings and structured data are preserved or improved. The rebuild runs on lean markup with image formats, lazy-loading, font loading and critical CSS handled. Analytics and Search Console are checked before and after, and launch runs off a checklist so nothing drops.
Who it is best for
Sites that look dated but still rank, slow sites losing visitors and conversions, brands that have outgrown a DIY or template site, and anyone burned by a past redesign that tanked their traffic. If your site is small or you want to start fresh, the Small Business page may fit better.
Every redesign ships with this.
- Crawl and audit of the current site: URLs, rankings, traffic, tech issues
- New design applied consistently across every template
- Content migration that keeps your best-performing pages
- Full 301 redirect map from old URLs to new
- Titles, headings and structured data preserved or improved
- Performance rebuild: image formats, lazy-loading, fonts, critical CSS
- Pre and post-launch checks in analytics and Search Console
- Launch checklist so nothing drops on the switch

Faster after than before, measured
A redesign is the moment to fix the speed problems that built up over years: bloated plugins, oversized images, render-blocking scripts, a heavy theme. I rebuild on lean markup and handle image formats, lazy-loading, font loading and critical CSS. Target is 90+ on PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals that pass.
Straight talk: I record the current PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals before I start, so the improvement is a number you can see, not a claim. Desktop comes back green; mobile usually lands in the high 80s to low 90s after the rebuild, up from wherever the old site sat. The screenshots are the rebuilt version of a real site.
SEO and AEO carried across intact
- Clean semantic HTML and one clear H1 per page
- JSON-LD schema per template (Service, Article, FAQ, Breadcrumb)
- Per-page titles, meta and Open Graph carried over from the old site
- Full 301 redirect map so no ranking or backlink is lost
- XML sitemap, image alt text, sensible internal linking
Redesigns, answered.
Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?
Not if it is done carefully. The risk comes from changing URLs without redirects, dropping content that ranks, or losing metadata. I map every old URL to a new one with a 301, keep the pages that earn traffic, and carry titles and structured data across. Rankings usually hold or improve.
How long does a redesign take?
Most run four to eight weeks: a week for the audit and plan, three to five weeks for design and build, then a review round and a careful launch. Large sites with thousands of URLs take longer.
Do I have to redesign the whole site at once?
No. A phased redesign rebuilds high-value templates first, such as the home page, key landing pages and top service pages, and rolls the rest out over time. It spreads the cost and lowers the risk.
Can you keep my current platform?
Often. If you are on WordPress and the issue is design and speed, I can rebuild the front end without a migration. If the platform itself is the problem, I will say so and map out the move.
What if my last redesign lost traffic?
That is usually a redirect or content problem, and it is often recoverable. I audit what changed, restore or redirect what was lost, and rebuild from there.
Do you provide support after launch?
Yes, either ad hoc or on a monthly retainer. The weeks right after a redesign are when monitoring matters most.
What it costs.
A redesign typically runs about $400–$1,500, depending on site size and how much content has to move. A phased redesign can start smaller. Fixed-price or hourly, both work through Upwork with escrow.
What moves the number
- Number of pages and URLs to migrate and redirect
- Whether the design is provided or created from scratch
- How much content is rewritten rather than moved as-is
- Platform change versus a front-end-only rebuild
- Integrations that have to be re-wired
Let's redesign your site without the risk.
Send me your current site on Upwork, and I'll come back with an audit summary, a plan and a number. Usually within one business day.
